Anomalies in the cognitive-executive functions in patients with chiari malformation type I

Resumen tomado de la publicaciónAnomalías en las funciones cognitivo-ejecutivas en pacientes con la Malformación de Chiari Tipo I. Antecedentes: en la última década, existen evidencias crecientes de que déficits neuropsicológicos, esencialmente en funciones ejecutivas, pueden estar involucrados en la patogenia de la enfermedad de Chiari Tipo I. El objetivo del estudio es evaluar la influencia de anormalidades estructurales sobre las funciones neuropsicológicas, fundamentalmente ejecutivas, en pacientes con Chiari Tipo I. Método: para ello se comparó el perfil neuropsicológico de estos pacientes con controles sanos. Tanto a los pacientes Chiari Tipo I como a los controles sanos se les aplicó pruebas neuropsicológicas que valoraron funciones ejecutivas frontales de vigilancia o atención sostenida, flexibilidad mental, y planificación y formación de conceptos (Stroop, CPT, WCST). Resultados: los resultados obtenidos sugieren una afectación de los pacientes Chiari Tipo I en los procesos de inhibición y autocontrol (Stroop) y en la capacidad atencional y en el mantenimiento del curso del pensamiento y la acción (WCST). Conclusiones: estos resultados proporcionan evidencias de posibles déficits o anomalías en las funciones ejecutivas cognitivas, que permitirían diferenciar los pacientes con Chiari Tipo I.Universidad de Oviedo. The Teaching Practices’ Forum: A Tecnological Tool in the Initial Training Teacher.

La experiencia que presentamos está basada en el uso del foro de discusión como herramienta en la formación inicial de profesorado. El foro se dirige a los periodos de formación práctica que desarrollan los estudiantes a lo largo de su carrera. En esta ocasión, ofrecemos las valoraciones que aportan los participantes sobre el impacto que el foro ha tenido en su formación y también sus sugerencias respecto a otros posibles temas sobre los que centrar la atención en próximas ediciones. Este trabajo se ha desarrollado en el marco de los Proyectos de Innovación docente (I Plan Propio de Docencia) de la Universidad de Sevilla para el curso 2011-2012.We present an experience based on the use of the forum´s discussion as a tool in the initial training of teachers. A virtual resource focused on practical training that the students develop throughout his career. On this occasion, we offer the assessments made by the participants about the impact that the forum has had on their training and their suggestions on other possible topics on which to focus in future editions. From the criticism of the politic mith to the politic mith as criticism

El concepto de mito político nació como concepto teórico a comienzos del siglo XX. Fue George Sorel el primero en teorizarlo. Sin embargo, sigue siendo éste un concepto de complejo abordaje. Sus usos están cargados de connotaciones peyorativas muy fuertes, en las cuales la tendencia a considerarlo un fenómeno anormal y a excluirlo como categoría heurística de lo político es lo que predomina. Esto es así, porque para las teorías políticas de raigambre racionalista -como lo son el liberalismo y el marxismo ortodoxo-, el concepto de mito político denota fenómenos de irracionalidad en el ámbito de la política que desvían y/o enmascaran el verdadero sentido de ésta. Desde una perspectiva diferente, influenciada por el marxismo, pero que busca una compresión del mito político más dialéctica y cercana a la praxis que a la especulación pura y esencialista de la política, Georges Sorel, Antonio Gramsci y José Carlos Mariátegui rompen con la valoración negativa de éste. Realizar un análisis de las concepciones desarrolladas al respecto por cada uno de estos autores, es el propósito de este artículo.The concept of political myth was born as theoretical concept at the beginning of the 20th century. George Sorel was the first one in it theorizing. Nevertheless, this one continues being a concept of complex boarding. Its uses are loaded with pejorative very strong connotations, in which the trend to consider it to be an abnormal phenomenon and to excluding it as heuristic category of the political thing is what prevails. This is like that, because for the political theories of racionalist root - as it it are the liberalism and the orthodox Marxism-, the concept of political myth denotes phenomena of irrationality in the area of the politics that they turn aside and / or mask the real sense of this one. From a different perspective, influenced by the Marxism, but that looks for a compression of the political myth more dialectical and near to the practice that to the pure speculation and esencialista of the politics, Georges Sorel, Antonio Gramsci and Jose Carlos Mariátegui break with the negative valuation of this one. To realize an analysis of the conceptions developed in the matter by each of these authors, it is the intention of this article

Se estudia un impreso en una sola hoja, desconocido, custodiado en el Archivo Histórico Nacional de Madrid. El texto y lámina refieren un suceso extraño, anómalo: el nacimiento de gemelos unidos, nacidos en Alfara (Valencia), el día 28 de agosto de 1781. Se presenta “al monstruo” como una producción contra el orden regular de la naturaleza, pero que, por encima de todo, es un ser humano. Se describe, difunde y exhibe como fenómeno, pero también para divulgar lo raro ante una sociedad poco erudita. Nunca faltó la corrección afectuosa en la representación de estos seres. Se dan a conocer otros impresos de la misma temática, de fines del s. XVII y otros del XVIII.This article focuses in an unknown printed image of two female siamese twins, born inValencia (Spain) in August 28th, 1781. The so called “monster” is presented as a break of the natural order, but the text enphasizes it is a human being above all. In representing this kind of human beings never lacked a compassive respect. The siemese twins are described and shown as a phenomenon, but also with the aim of enlightening a society whose knowledge is very limited. The article also pays attention to other images with a similar theme and approach, made in the 17th and 18th centuries

Perspectivas sobre religión y filosofía en los inicios del idealismo alemán : Fichte y Schelling antes de 1794

Fichte y Schelling comenzaron su carrera intelectual bajo la órbita del kantismo y su revolución copernicana. En especial el primer Fichte desarrolla una doctrina ilustrada que intenta poner límites racionales a toda posible revelación divina, para luego desarrollar una filosofía que ha asimilado enteramente en sí Ia fe cristiana como máxima realización de la Razón universal. Por su parte, Schelling rechazará la vertiente kantiana de la Ilusrración y se decidirá por un spinozismo místico y por un intento de recobrar el mundo de las creencias religiosas positivas como ámbito máis pleno de realización del espíritu humano.Fitche and Schelling began their intellectual way under the influence of the kantism and its copernican revolution. The credibility of the Venezuela crawling-band system

This paper studies the credibility of the Venezuela crawling-band exchange rate regime during the period July, 1996-February, 2002. We show that, introducing some modifications, the credibility analysis widely applied to target zone regimes can also be used in studying the credibility of crawling- band regimes. In analyzing the credibility of the Venezuela crawling band, first we use the so-called simple credibility tests developed by Svensson (1991). Additionally, we estimate the expected rate of realignment using the drift- adjustment method. Both the credibility tests and the drift-adjustment method give similar results, showing that the crawling-band system was highly credible during the period.crawling band exchange rate system, credibility, realignments

The Role of Digital Literacy in the Employability of Older Workers

Con la llegada del anunciado envejecimiento de la población, los conceptos de envejecimiento activo y formación permanente son parte de las agendas de los países miembros de la Unión Europea en la lucha contra el desempleo que sufren los trabajadores mayores de 55 años. Este estudio presenta una parte de los resultados obtenidos en el análisis de las transiciones laborales por las que pasan los trabajadores mayores en la actualidad; prestando especial atención a las relaciones que existen entre el nivel de alfabetización digital que poseen y su nivel de empleabilidad dentro del mercado de trabajo.Announced the arrival of an aging population, the concepts of active ageing and lifelong learning are part of the agendas of the member countries of the European Union in the fight against unemployment suffered by workers over 55 years old. Relational databases and homogeneity in logics with counting

We define a new hierarchy in the class of computable queries to relational databases, in terms of the preservation of equality of theories in fragments of first order logic with bounded number of variables with the addition of counting quantifiers (Ck). We prove that the hierarchy is strict, and it turns out that it is orthogonal to the TIME-SPACE hierarchy defined with respect to the Turing machine complexity. We introduce a model of computation of queries to characterize the different layers of our hierarchy which is based on the reflective relational machine of S. Abiteboul, C. Papadimitriou, and V. Vianu. In our model the databases are represented by their Ck theories. Then we define and study several properties of databases related to homogeneity in Ck getting various results on the change in the computation power of the introduced machine, when working on classes of databases with such properties. We study the relation between our hierarchy and a similar one which we defined in a previous work, in terms of the preservation of equality of theories in fragments of first order logic with bounded number of variables, but without counting quantifiers (FOk). Finally, we give a characterization of the layers of the two hierarchies in terms of the infinitary logics CK∞ω and LK∞ω respectively
